Chris: Lead Vocals  After a number of college bands Chris formed and fronted 'Platinum Sponge', a covers band noted for playing to a variety of audiences at venues including the ICC and Liverpool's Saint Georges' Hall.  During 2004 Chris went on to co-found the Circle of Five.  The plan?   To get together a band of quality musicians to both write and produce original material and to cover interesting but popular songs which the band could make their own.  A mix of classical and contemporary vocal training has given Chris a unique sound.  He has a powerful yet subtle voice capable of adapting to most styles of music.  He also has a unique style of dancing which, despite our best efforts, we are still trying to contain!

David Sykes - Lead & Rhythm Guitar.  The newest member of the band and an ex-session musician David has played in some of the least known bands in London and Birmingham.  A talented multi-instrumentalist David plays everything from bassoon to nose-harp and beyond.  He also has his own recording studio, a collection of guitars to make Roy Wood weep and more gadgets than even Trevor himself!

Andrew: Keyboards & Blues Harp.  Andrew is a classically trained pianist, and has played in several bands going all the way back to his university days.  He has played a variety of genre including jazz, swing, folk and rock bands as well as playing for churches (traditional, and contemporary gospel music) for a number of years.  He played in the covers band "Platinum Sponge" with Chris, from start to finish, and was a founder member of Circle of Five.  As well as being an awesome performing musician Andrew is also a songwriter and has provided a substantial amount of the raw material which the band has gone on to make its own.  When the rest of the band let him, this multi-talented musician escapes from the keyboard, plays a bit of blues harp and takes an occasional acoustic guitar spot. He doesn't, however, claim to be able to match Chris' dancing skills!

Trevor: (Multiple) bass guitar[s] & gadgets!  Trevor is not a classically trained pianist but has played bass guitar for 26 years.  During that period he has played in a number of bands both as a band member and as a session musician.  His most notable gig was with ex Iron Maiden front man, Bruce Dickinson, in Sarajevo in 1994.  A self-confessed gearhead Trevor is behind the band's sound engineering and recording and is working towards owning the whole of Turnkey's back catalogue!  Clearly the sexiest member of the Circle (according to Trevor!) he claims to be available for weddings, birthdays, bar mitzvahs and other odd jobs.

Matt: Drums & Percussion. Matt has played Drums and provided rhythms for various bands in and around the Birmingham area for a number of years.  Prior to joining the Circle Matt played with a local four piece known as ‘The Evidence’ receiving some critical acclaim.  This culminated in a support slot on the original ‘Commitments’ Tour in the 90’s.  Drafted as the Circle’s resident ‘pot-basher’, drums and percussion are a passion and he strives to purvey this in his own punchy style. Influenced by drummers such as Roger Taylor (Queen), Buddy Rich, Joey Kramer (Aerosmith) he enjoys buying bits of metalwork to add Christmas tree-like to his live set-up, musical styles from Rock to Soul and anything in between…
